Thoughts on Parkex 2010 Top 3 mobility themes

We spent most of the week at Parkex 2010. Europe's largest show dedicated the parking industry.

Had the opportunity to speak to many people about creating mobile applications and providing solutions in the parking compliance and management industry

Major themes:

  1. Making workers become more efficient.
  2. Use technology to generate efficiency gains rather than adding headcount.
  3. Reduce back office paperwork by making in field data capture more efficient in the first place.

How we can help you manage remote workers in an FM enviroment

Outsourcing facilities management tasks such as building maintenance cleaning and security have become commonplace. Our FM app allows for specific work-flow tasks around key maintenance activities driven by tasks either being fed to the worker on completion of the previous task or set so that the worker requests the next task. Can be used with directly employed staff or sub-contractors.
Add Push to Talk to devices to enable always on multi way text and speech between workers

How to build a windows mobile pda or Intel Atom based tablet app for your business that doesn't suck !

Historically or in some cases hysterically enterprise grade mobile apps have often proven very difficult for organisations to design plan and implement. Traditionally apps been built in one of the following ways;
  • Buy an off the shelf solution
Traditional square peg round hole approach
    Expensive, inflexible
    Technically, can become outdated quickly
  • Get someone to do a bespoke application development
Tough to justify in house as skills in mobility not common
    Costly, complex, and time consuming
Difficult to change repeat maintain upgrade
  • Use your back end or legacy system mobility module
Geared to extend ERP SCM, and CRM functions to small screens
Not designed from the ground up for mobile workers
Not good at accessing multi-application back end environments
Often excludes functionality mobile workers need

Find out the real difference in how we can build an application 'with' you or select one from our app store and use it as is or modify it to meet your needs.

NetMotion Wireless Raises the Bar for Mobile VPNs With Mobility XE 9.0

NetMotion Wireless has announced that the latest version of their flagship mobile VPN product, Mobility XE 9.0 will provide new security features that keep mobile workers productive within tightened corporate security environments.

The release adds seamless re-authentication without disrupting application sessions, keeps mobile workers in the field and their devices current with unattended device access and enforces strong multifactor authentication tuned for the needs of the organization and the mobile workers.

To address concerns about device theft and requirements such as CJIS or HIPAA, the new user re-authentication capability in 9.0 keeps users connected to networks and applications during the re-authentication process. Workers can re-enter their credentials as required without shutting down and restarting applications. Organizations minimize the risks associated with device theft and comply with regulatory requirements. Networks stay secure and workers stay productive.
